It's probably a bad sign that, in order to get ready to write up a new policy, I'm researching buzzwords from a Buzzword Bingo website. I used to use a thesaurus for this sort of thing, but not any more.
Yes, I think it's a bad sign.
Whatever variety of grass it is that freaks out my allergies, it's blooming! Yuck. This usually lasts 4-6 weeks. Runny nose, itchy eyes, fatigue, and fuzzy brain. And fuzzy brain. Brain's fuzzy. And fatigue. Benadryl seems to be most effective, but it also knocks me out better than any of the others, too. I guess Claritin is the best balance of being somewhat effective and minimizing the drowsiness. The drowsiness. Minimizes the drowsiness.

Memorial Day Weekend Recap
Not so eventful! But we've got enough going on, lately, that we don't really need an eventful Memorial Day Weekend, right now.
Leslie's sciatic nerve is still pinched, but she did get the contact info for a couple of physical therapists who are recommended by our friend, Sherri. I hope she goes, soon. She's been taking ibuprofen for it for about a month, now, and when nasty stomach pains started it didn't occur to either of us that she might have over-used the ibuprofen. She saw a doctor over the weekend about her stomach and the Dr. gave her a prescription for something to help put her stomach lining back together after a month of ibuprofen tearing it up. Poor Leslie!
We spent a pretty good amount of time with our new friends, Victor and Sherri. We've had a great time, though we did find out that our dogs
don't get along. OK, maybe their dog could get along with Mocha, but Mocha doesn't get along with other dogs, AT ALL. She went after Murphy a couple of times, yesterday, so I think that's enough visiting for her!
But they're good folks, those two, so I'm looking forward to seeing them, again.
Linnea's eyes are clearing up further and she is holding her head up a lot. I don't remember Aidan doing it this much at almost 6 weeks. She seems pretty good, otherwise. Purty cute. I'll post some pics, soon. Some cute page of them.
Aidan's gone through an interesting phase, lately. Monsters. There's access to a crawl space in his bedroom and he recently started telling me that there was a monster in there. I convinced him that it was a Good Monster and that monsters like singing, so he went to bed that night singing to the door to the crawl space.
He also was concerned about the monster in the living room. That one he was actually scared of. Every time he told me about it, we went in to the dining room and looked all over for a monster and couldn't find one. We looked under the tables and behind chairs and in the fireplace, he even pulled the cushions off the couch to make sure the monster wasn't hiding in there. Tuesday morning, though, he told Mommy that there were no monsters in the living room. That seems like good news, to me. I'd be happy to hear your theories on what sort of anxieties might provoke children looking for monsters, btw. ("Just about anything" is NOT a helpful response, by the way!)
I think Leslie's going to finally finish her quilt for Aidan, soon. Maybe we can post a pic of it when it is done. It's full of stuff Aidan loves: Cars, planes, motorcycles, and boats.
I've got too many hobbies and things I want to get done to fit into the time I have available for them, at least in the near-future. Right now, the schedule is to get up for work @ 5:30am, which I can pull off after about 6 months of it, come home from work @ about 4pm and relieve Leslie of her childcare duties. See, that's not such a hard time, for me. I miss Aidan after all day at work, so we tickle and scream and read and stuff. And with the weather improving we'll do more stuff outside.
So, Aidan goes to bed a little before 8pm. The time between getting home and him going to bed is reserved for family time. 8pm and on, though, is all mine! It's not exactly quality time, though: I'm kinda tired after a full day of work and Aidan-chasing, so those couple of hours before bed aren't so productive for me. Yet.
Got any experience with Dish vs. DirecTV? Going to Dish or DTV is the cheapest way to get into a DVR (Tivo, for example), and we can save a little money over what we're currently paying Comcast. They seem to be mostly the same with a few channels differing and a little more selection in plans @ Dish network. Both offer dual-receiver DVR's, but the DTV model offers more features on its DVR.
I think I'd better get going. Check back with you later.
